THE ARCADE is a quarterly shopping event within the virtual world Second Life. The shopping experience puts an inventive spin on Japan’s gacha craze, where shoppers play through random lineups, hoping to win collectibles of varying rarity.
In Japan, gachas are coin-operated vending machines; Shoppers pull a crank and out pops a random prize (usually a collectible toy, sometimes part of a complete set.)
